This was Lexie's night! Here she is with her beautiful mother!!
I am so far behind on blogging that it is insane!
I thought I would start my catch-up with an awesome opportunity for one of my Miamaids!
We had been talking about goals with the girls at a class activity, and Lexie talked about how she wanted to practice everyday to prepare for an upcoming opportunity to sing the National Anthem at a school basketball game!
We were all so excited for her!
She told us the date, we marked the calendars, and were so thrilled to support her in this endeavor.
The day came, we texted all the girls to let them know, and this is what happened...
That gym was filled with love and support for this beautiful girl that night!
As you can see by the picture below, she was nervous, but ready!
She picked up that microphone, walked to the center of that court, and sang the Anthem beautifully!
There were more people cheering for Lexie than the basketball players that night! :) (ok, maybe not technically, but we were the loudest!)
I loved this moment when Kiana ran to her on the court, and just hugged her and smiled with her.
What a breath of fresh air to see these girls supporting and loving each other!
I love these girls! They are all so talented, and so loved!
I admire their love for each other, and their willingness to forgive and always be there for each other!
I also love her mother, father, and her Miamaid Advisor, Kara, smiling away in support of her!
It was a wonderful night!
