Magical Mondays

Three day weekends are the BEST!

Two regular days filled with athletic events, Saturday clean-up chores, Sunday lessons and family time.

I love the weekends!

But, the weekends with an "extra day," seem to be magical around here.

"Magical" might be a relative term to my children, because sometimes that means all garages get cleaned out, swept and sprayed out. (One of my personal favorites!)

Sometimes it means, getting to sleep in as late as one possibly can. (I believe, one of my teenagers' favorites!)

And sometimes it means adventures. This is truly everyone's favorite!

Yesterday, FISHING was on the "TOP THINGS FOR 2011", so it was the choice of Easton. Everyone was on board.

The fishing poles were collected and loaded. Bait was bought! And they were off.

To the little kids dismay, everywhere they had planned on going was still frozen. And after all, this was not ice fishing!

Finally, dad scored and found a perfect spot off the Platte River.

When I use the word "perfect," that would imply to some, (definitely to Easton), that the perfect spot would bring in a bucket load of fish.

Well, this spot, was not that perfect, but it was fun.

The girls were so cute. They loved standing on those rocks and waiting and waiting for...the bait to be stolen. They did a little more posing for pictures than fishing, but they sure were adorable doing it.

Easton is a boy. A real boy. The kind that wants dangerous adventures, daring stories to tell and FISH on a fishing adventure. He did experience a little disappointment yesterday, but he was a good sport!

Thank you John for being patient with our kids, taking them fishing, keeping them safe and giving them a magical day.
