It was a perfect football day. About 65 degrees on a field nestled behind a Broomfield recreation center with a beautiful view of the mountains. Gorgeous!
Then the game began. Yelling, screaming, play calling and off they went!
The end result was a 35-7 game, in our favor.
I asked AJ what was his favorite play of the game and he spoke of the first kickoff.
The kick was made, the ball was caught. AJ had the player in his sights, but several others had HIM in THEIR sights.
He shed block after block, getting quickly to the ball carrier and took him down on the 5!
It was a great day, a challenging season, and a precious memory of a boy who had to work hard for his position!
